If you've lived in the neighbourhood for any length of time, you likely know Earl or know of him. For those new to the neighbourhood, you may have noticed a bench near the Little Free Library with a small plaque honouring Earl. Over the past 40 years Earl, one of the neighbourhood's original residents, has been a prolific masters athletics world record breaker, not to mention the author of various books on longevity, running and poetry.​

 

(Note: At the time of writing in early August 2025, Earl has broken two indoor world records this year in the 95-99 years old age category.)
